Project Background and Objectives
ESRI is a developer of high technology GIS software, used in business, communications, government, education and other applications. In addition to developing GIS software, ESRI also evaluates, recommends and uses hardware, software and systems in GIS applications.
ESRI did an extensive evaluation of IDEAL's large format GIS scanners and software. The evaluation included accuracy, speed, support, ease-of-use, price and other factors. As a result of the high scores IDEAL large format GIS scanners achieved on this evaluation, ESRI uses IDEAL scanners in the ESRI scanning services division. In addition, ESRI appointed IDEAL as an ESRI business partner, enabling IDEAL to partner with ESRI and to sell to ESRI Clients.
Contract Work, Scope, and Deliverables
IDEAL provided large format color scanners, map conversion software and technical support to ESRI and ESRI scanning services division. The scanners include Cougar and Magnum models and the software includes, IVector, WiseImage and Raster ID for use in raster to vector conversion and contour conversion. In addition, on-going partnership opportunties between ESRI and IDEAL supply scanners, software and technical support to ESRI clients.
