Contex Appoints New General Manager in China
by Diane Mitol
Maintains Strong Presence in the Asian Market
HQ, Alleroed, Denmark, January 12, 2009 – Contex – the world's leading manufacturer of wide format scanners – today announced the appointment of Jerry Cheng as General Manager in China. Cheng adds to Contex's strength in the Asian market, together with Nobuo Kanzaki, who is General Manager in Japan joining Contex in last May, as part of the Asian team. Both Cheng, in China, and Kanzaki, in Japan, emphasize the high level technology that Contex scanners bring to the Asian market, as well as the large market share that Contex enjoys. They both stress the importance of working closely with Contex distributors to ensure success for the distributors, their dealers and for Contex.
Cheng plans to lead growth in China by focusing on distributor growth for both the new Contex SD line of scanners, and the traditional HD line of scanners. HD scanning solutions give companies uncompromising image quality, versatility and reliability, and are primarily designed for reprographics and graphic arts companies, copy shops, engineers, and GIS professionals. The SD series scanners are high production; low cost scanners designed to bring quality scanning within reach of most budgets, and are used by engineers, GIS professionals, architects, construction companies, copy and reprographic shops. Contex takes pride in its "no compromise" philosophy, offering quality scanning technology at affordable prices.
"Contex's best-in-class HD and SD scanners provide powerful and affordable scanning solutions for all wide format imaging needs. Traditionally, Contex has dominated the market with high-end CCD technology HD scanners. Contex's new SD Scanners are affordable scanners which feature enhanced CIS technology and they open the door to many non-traditional scanning markets. This complete, no-compromise scanner line makes this an exciting time to become part of the Contex Team." says Jerry Cheng.
"Cheng comes to Contex with extensive sales and management experience, having worked with Cisco Systems and Dell, before joining Contex, and we look forward to the growth that he will bring us in the Chinese market," says Niels Appel, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Both Cheng in China and Kanzaki in Japan are assets to our strong Asian market."
In addition to his duties in China, Cheng will become part of Contex's global sales and marketing leadership team.
